Наш Спаситель Иисус Христос учил всех нас, что для достижения Царствия Небесного, и чтобы спасти наши души мы должны накормить голодных (Мф. 25: 34-40). Господь также говорит нам, что, когда мы кормим тех, которые голодны, мы на самом деле кормим Его.

Parkdale Food Centre помогает людям в нашей общине, предоставляя им не только еду, но одежду и уроки кулинарии, а также общение. Чтобы помочь этой достойной организации наш приход поставил ящик в коридоре в подвале храма, куда можно приносить пожертвования не портящейся еды. Список того, что можно пожертвовать, размещен над ящиком. Наш приход будет также собирать молочные продукты, такие как молоко, сыр и йогурт в последнее воскресенье каждого месяца, чтобы помочь бедным. Пожертвования молочных продуктов можно оставить в коробке "Parkdale Food Centre" в холодильнике в нижнем зале.

Хотя мы живем в богатой стране с обилием всего необходимого для нашей жизни, есть люди, которые гораздо беднее нас. И наш христианский долг, чтобы помочь нуждающимся и таким образом создать для себя сокровища на небесах (Мф. 6:20).

Dear brothers and sisters,

Our Saviour Jesus Christ taught all of us that to reach the Kingdom of Heaven and to save our souls we must feed the hungry (Matthew 25: 34-40). The Lord also assures us that when we feed those that are hungry we are in actual fact feeding Him.

The Parkdale Food Centre helps people in our community, by providing them not only food, but also clothing, cooking lessons and fellowship. To help this worthy organization our parish has set up a box in the hallway in the basement of the church where non-perishable food donations can be left. A list of what is needed is posted above the box. Our parish will also be collecting dairy products such as milk, cheese and yogurt on the last Sunday of each month to help the poor. Donations of dairy products can be left in the box labelled ‘Parkdale Food Centre’ in the refrigerator in the lower hall.

Although we live in a rich country with an abundance of everything needed for our physical lives, there are people who are less fortunate than us who are not able to enjoy these bounties. It is our Christian duty to help those in need and in this manner build up treasures for ourselves in heaven (Matthew 6:20).
