Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Congratulations with the feast of Pascha!
Christ is Risen!
One of the hymns of today’s church service has a particularly beautiful and poetic way of expressing the might with which Christ destroyed the power of the Devil and of death. We sang or read the following words: "Roaring royally, as the Lion of Judas, Thou hast slept, and Thou hast awakened the dead of all past ages." Christ is not only the meek lamb, the living sacrifice but also the roaring, mighty lion, who tears up and enslaves the enemy of man and calls us into communion with Him.
If this is so, then today we have nothing to worry about, nothing to stress about. Instead, all their is to do is to rejoice because nothing, including tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, the sword, any type of virus, nor the temporary absence from church services will separate us from the love of the risen Christ (Romans 8:35)!
I miss all of you and hope to soon see all of you in church.
Happy feastday.
Christ is Risen!
priest Alexis
