Dear Parishioners,
The printouts of this weekend’s services are ready. Although in church we serve the All-Night Vigil (Vespers, Matins and 1st Hour) on Saturday evening, I have prepared only the Vespers for Saturday (the All-Night Vigil is very long). For Sunday I have prepared Typica.
If you wish to read the services in Churchslavonic but have never done this before don’t fret. Reading in Churchslavonic isn’t that difficult, you have to learn some letters that have fallen out of use in the modern Russian alphabet, become familiar with the punctuation and learn the words that are printed with abbreviations. You can learn about all of this here: http://orthodoxvera.ru/azy/40-uchimsya-chitat-po-cerkovnoslavyanskitablicy/. If you don’t understand something you can always look at the Russian or English translations.
